Supporting the case of Kid City vs Ofsted

In 2018, sendPACT was approached by parents/carers in regards to Kid City, a provision for SEND children (nursery, after school, and holiday club) in Haringey which was bound to be closed. The LA had sent letters to parents/carers  urging them not to take the children to this venue anymore because the nursery was rated inadequate by Ofsted, as Ofsted doesn’t inspect any after school or holiday club for children over 8 years old.

Parents told us that they didn’t want Kid City to be closed and asked us if we could help fight for it. sendPACT met with the Kid City Manager and planned several strategies to help improve the venue to meet Ofsted standards, as well as advising on many levels, and managing Kid City communications with Ofsted and the LA.

We supported Kid City for over 6 months until Kid City was forced to drop the case against Ofsted for different reasons. Inevitably, Kid City had to end the nursery provision.

sendPACT continues to support the Kid City Manager to provide other services in future, including a partnership with a private therapists for children with cerebral palsy and similar conditions.
