Amaze, the parent-led charity commissioned by Haringey Council on parent engagement, began their work back in February. Here is an update from Amaze, confirming delay in the report due to Covid19.
Dear parents and carers,
We hope that you and your families are staying well in the current circumstances and that you are managing with the additional pressures that lockdown brings to families who have children with additional needs.
We wanted to update you regarding our recent focus groups and survey of parent participation in Haringey. We are so grateful to all of you for giving up your time to attend a focus group, join us for our online webinar and/or fill in our survey. Your views have given us a very clear picture of current situation in Haringey and, along with the information we have gathered from our interviews with professionals, we are currently writing a report that will contain recommendations as to how things can move forward to ensure the wider SEND community plays an active role in shaping services for families.
In the focus groups we mentioned that we were hoping to publish the report next month, but we are mindful of the fact that with all eyes focused on Covid19 the messages the report contains along with our recommendations may not have the impact needed to ensure that change can be effected in the borough. However, we don’t want you to think that your time has been wasted, which is why we are emailing with this update to let you know that the report is coming but it’s likely that we won’t publish it until the lockdown has lifted.
Thank you again for taking part in our review – we hope that you and your families stay well and if you have any questions, please drop us an email.
Best wishes
UPDATE: 26 May 2020
