Our very own, Marta Garcia, was recently awarded a well-deserved Haringey’s Unsung Women’s Award, an award that shines a light on outstanding women from across the community.
Commemorating International Women’s Day this year, the annual Unsung Women’s Award ceremony celebrated women around the borough who have gone that extra mile in helping others without any payment.
Here’s what one nominator said about Marta:
Marta is a proud mum of an autistic, non-verbal child that has been fighting for the last five years to improve services and support for disabled younger children and their families across Haringey.
The awards ceremony took place on 10 March in the Council Chamber at the Haringey Civic Centre.
